The Guided Hands® Adaptations Kit provides client-centered adaptions to customize the device for various levels of mobility, supporting individuals with spastic movements, tremors, high & low tone, visual impairments, and more!

Designed in collaboration with occupational therapists from 23 countries, these adaptations make Guided Hands® accessible to all abilities, promoting greater independence and engagement in everyday activities.

Adaptations Kit Includes:

1. Adaptations Bag: Eco-friendly, made from recycled materials, with a double-zippered expansion gusset (7”L x 10.5”H x 3.5”W).
2. Slant Board: Enhances visibility for individuals with visual impairments and provides elbow support for those with limited shoulder strength.
3. Wrist Weight: Provides added support to help steady movements and reduce the impact of involuntary motions associated with high muscle tone, tremors, or spasticity.
4. Anti-Slip Mat: Prevents devices like tablets or communication tools from sliding while in use.
5. Bungee Cords & Elastic Bands: Add adjustable resistance for smoother and more controlled movements caused by tremors or spastic movements.
6. Custom-Cut Pool Noodles: Place longer pieces to promote elbow extension or limit range of motion. Use smaller pieces to prevent elbow dropping, add resistance for horizontal movements, and position the hand neutrally.
7. Roll of Tape: Secures pool noodles to the device for a customized setup.
8. Binder Clip: Holds paper or activities securely on the board.
9. Industrial Suction Cups: Anchor the device firmly to the table for users with tremors or spastic movements.
10. Scrunchie Strap: Provides extra security for the wrist, forearm, or hand, ensuring the hand stays on the handpiece—ideal for users with spastic movements, tremors, or very low tone.
